Looking Back: 2015 for Presans

Let’s face it, on a collective level, 2015 mainly brought us a lot of pain. Remembering that is part of what keeps us afloat in the storm. Switching to the individual level, the tone varies. Looking back, we at Presans can see that 2015 brought quite a few changes for the better. Things really kicked off for us in March, which is when we moved into our new office at Remix Coworking. The migration from the remote plateau of Saclay to the entrepreneurial hipness of the Tenth arrondissement went down rather well with the team. The options for food expanded considerably. A whole new potential to host events also opened up. Very handy, for instance, if you have a new

Panel Discussion on Innovation Intelligence @ Mardis de l’Innovation

Marc Giget strikes again. The innovation thinker who pens forewords is also the focal point around which the French innovation community gathers. Over 200 people attended this week’s edition of his seminar. Topic of the session : Open Innovation — perspectives after ten years of practice in a digital world. Presans coordinated the session. This isn’t Albert Meige’s first gig here. This time he came to present the main trends from the book he just finished co-writing with Jacques Schmitt. His talk was interspersed with subliminal encouragements to acquire it. The vision of the future he described is shaped by the twin waves of digitalization and commoditization. This rapidly approaching scenario would also see players of various sizes converge towards similar strategies. On the level of intermediaries and service providers, time hasn’t decisively answered the question

Magic & Innovation – Conference at Les Mardis de l’Innovation

On June 18th 2013, Marc Giget invited me (Albert Meige) to the “Mardis de l’Innovation” to give a non-serious conference on the theme “Magic & Innovation”. For the occasion, I also asked my friend Frank Debouck (head of the Ecole Centrale Lyon and… great magician) to come and speak about how magicians exploit certain human weaknesses, the same weaknesses that he was trying to avoid as a plane pilot… Inspiring. In my talk, I explain how magic and innovation (and science) are closely related. I take the concrete and famous case of the woman cut in halves. I also make a few silly tricks at the end. Don’t watch, it lasts almost 40 minutes. MAGIE DE L INNOVATION ET INNOVATION DANS LA

Innovation Barometer 2012

Crisis and paradox   GE France commented on the results of the second annual GE Innovation Barometer a while ago. The results bear witness to the damaging impact of the economic crisis on the ability of businesses to engage in innovation. Managers who responded to the survey appear to expect innovation management to undergo a renewal. This would confirm a growing awareness of the need to adapt strategies and models to the new reality emerging from the crisis. The role of openness however still remains complex to describe, as underscored by the “partnership paradox” revealed by the survey: “However, a disconnect surfaced between the importance of partnerships and the need to pursue them in the near term. A “partnership paradox” presented
